> PTV holds the TV rights to Pakistan's 25-match home season to March 2027. How to watch on cable, satellite and your phone, what it shows, data use and fixes when the stream fails.

**PTV Sports live** is how most of Pakistan watches its home cricket on television this season. The state broadcaster PTV bought the TV rights to Pakistan's **2026-27 home season, 25 matches (5 Tests, 14 ODIs and 6 T20Is), for Rs 350 million**, as the only bidder, [ProPakistani reported](https://propakistani.pk/2026/10/05/pakistans-home-cricket-broadcast-rights-sold-for-rs-350-million/) on 5 October 2026. This guide covers every legal way to watch PTV Sports live: on cable or satellite, on your phone, and on a laptop or smart TV, plus what to do when the stream fails.

The next big match is **Pakistan vs Sri Lanka on Sunday 18 October at Rawalpindi**, the opener of the ODI tri-series with England (18 to 31 October, per the [PCB](https://www.pcb.com.pk/press-release-detail/pakistan-england-sri-lanka-set-to-begin-preparations-for-odi-world-cup-with-tri-series-from-18-to-31.html)). Times and fixtures are on our [tri-series page](/news/cricket/pakistan-tri-series-schedule-results).

## What PTV Sports shows this season

PTV's package covers Pakistan's home internationals from October 2026 to March 2027, as listed by ProPakistani:

| Series | When |
| --- | --- |
| Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, 3 T20Is | October 2026 |
| ODI tri-series with Sri Lanka and England (7 matches) | 18 to 31 October 2026 |
| Pakistan vs Sri Lanka, 2 Tests | November 2026 |
| Pakistan vs Ireland, 3 T20Is | January 2027 |
| ODI tri-series involving Zimbabwe (7 matches) | January 2027 |
| Pakistan vs Ireland, 1 Test | February 2027 |
| Pakistan vs New Zealand, 2 Tests | February to March 2027 |

Reports suggest the Zimbabwe tri-series and the Ireland Test may not go ahead; the PCB has not confirmed either. Away series, the PSL and ICC events have separate rights deals, so check before each one.

## How to watch PTV Sports on TV: step by step

1. **Cable:** PTV Sports is carried by cable operators across Pakistan, but each operator sets its own channel number. Scan your channel list for "PTV Sports" or ask your cable operator; we could not find an official, published list of channel numbers.
2. **IPTV and set-top boxes:** if you use a telecom IPTV service, PTV Sports sits in its sports section. Check the provider's channel guide.
3. **Satellite dish:** if you watch through a dish receiver, run an automatic channel scan and look for PTV Sports; if the channel has moved, a re-scan usually finds it.
4. **Picture quality:** on cable, pick the HD version of the channel if your operator offers one.

## How to watch PTV Sports live on your phone

1. **Use an official app.** A "PTV Sports" app is listed on the [App Store](https://apps.apple.com/pk/app/ptv-sports/id959908910) by Rockville Technologies; its listing says it streams live transmissions in HD during matches and carries news on cricket, hockey, football and other sports. It is free.
2. **Use Tamasha for Pakistan's home matches online.** Jazz's streaming app Tamasha holds the PCB's digital rights for the same 2026-27 home season. Our [Tamasha live cricket guide](/guides/telecom/tamasha-live-cricket-how-to-watch) walks through it step by step.
3. **Sign in, then open the live match** from the home screen 10 minutes before the start.
4. **Choose a lower video quality** on mobile data, the highest on Wi-Fi.

## Data: how much will a match use?

Neither PTV nor Tamasha publishes data-use figures. A full ODI runs for about eight hours and a Test day for about seven, so streaming a whole match on mobile data can take a large bundle. Watch on Wi-Fi where you can, and compare data bundles from Jazz, Zong, Telenor and Ufone on our [mobile packages comparison](/compare/mobile-packages). The [mobile load tax calculator](/tools/telecom/mobile-load-tax-calculator) shows how much of each load goes in tax.

## When the stream fails: fixes

1. **Buffering at the toss or after a wicket:** that is network load. Drop the quality one step.
2. **Black screen:** close the app fully and reopen it, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
3. **"Content not available" or the match is missing:** update the app from the store. Some matches may stream only on the rights holder's platform, so check Tamasha.
4. **Cable channel shows "no signal":** the operator may be changing its line-up. Re-scan or call the operator.
5. **Satellite channel lost:** run a fresh scan on the receiver.

## Common mistakes

- **Looking for PTV Sports on unofficial stream sites.** They are full of pop-up ads and fake "player update" downloads that can carry malware, and the stream drops mid-over. Use the official apps or your TV.
- **Downloading a copycat app.** Check the developer name and reviews before installing; the official listings are linked above.
- **Assuming PTV Sports has every Pakistan match.** Its deal is for home internationals. For the PSL, away tours and ICC events, check who holds the rights each time.
- **Getting the time wrong.** Our match times are always in PKT. The tri-series ODIs are reported to start at 1pm PKT.

## Quick answers
