UAE visit visas are open to Pakistani passport holders again after the slow, heavily screened stretch through the first half of 2026. Applications for ordinary passports go through registered travel agents and airlines, not through the UAE embassy, and the documentation bar is higher than it was two years ago.

This guide uses the fees published by **Emirates**, which is one of the official issuing channels and the one that publishes its prices openly. Rupee figures are converted at today's interbank dollar rate of **Rs 277.28**. An agent will add a service charge on top, and that charge is where most of the price variation you see quoted around Pakistan comes from.

## The visa options and what they cost

Read the middle two columns carefully, because this is where people get caught. "Valid before entry" is the window in which you must land in the UAE. "Stay allowed" starts counting from the day you land. A 30-day visa issued on 1 October must be used by about 30 November, and if you land on 25 November you get your 30 days from that date, not from the issue date.

On a multiple entry visa the clock is even less forgiving: the stay period runs from your **first** entry and keeps running whether you are inside the UAE or not. Leaving and coming back does not reset it.

There is also a **five-year multiple entry tourist visa** available to all nationalities on self-sponsorship, allowing 90 days per visit, extendable by a further 90 days. It is issued through the same channels and priced separately by the issuing agent.

## Step by step

**1. Pick your channel.** UAE embassies do not issue tourist visas. Applications go through UAE-based airlines, licensed hotels, or travel agencies in the UAE or in Pakistan. For Pakistani ordinary passports the practical route in 2026 is a **registered travel agent** or an airline that is carrying you.

**2. Check your passport first.** It must be valid for at least **six months** from your date of entry. A passport with four months left is an automatic rejection and you will still have paid.

**3. Gather the documents.** For an Emirates-processed application, a Pakistani applicant needs:

- A colour photograph meeting the specified size and background rules
- A colour copy of the passport's external cover page
- A colour copy of the passport data page, valid six months or more
- A hotel reservation or a tenancy contract in the UAE
- A copy of the return ticket on Emirates, or a codeshare flight with an EK code
- A copy of your **National Identity Card**, which is an extra requirement applied to Pakistani residents

Agents handling family or visit-to-relatives applications will additionally ask for three to six months of bank statements, an employment certificate, a travel itinerary and proof of relationship to the person you are visiting. These are not arbitrary: they are what the screening now looks at.

**4. Submit and wait.** Emirates states processing takes approximately **two to four working days**, and advises allowing a minimum of four international working days before you travel. Dubai single-entry tourist visas can now be approved within 48 hours through authorised tourism offices and GDRFA-Dubai, but that is a best case, not a promise. Apply at least two weeks before your flight.

**5. Check the visa before you fly.** Read the name spelling, passport number, entry validity and stay duration on the issued visa the day it arrives. A typo caught on day one is fixed by the agent. A typo caught at the airport ends your trip at Karachi or Lahore immigration.

## Why applications get rejected

The screening tightened after UAE authorities identified cases involving forged educational certificates, fake employment documents, overstays, criminal activity and misuse of social media by earlier applicants. The consequence for honest applicants is that everything is now checked properly.

The most common causes of rejection:

- **Passport under six months validity.** Check this before you pay anyone.
- **No return ticket, or a ticket on the wrong airline.** If you apply through Emirates, the return must be on Emirates or an EK codeshare.
- **No confirmed accommodation.** A hotel booking that has been cancelled after screenshotting is caught routinely.
- **Thin or freshly funded bank statements.** A balance that appeared three days before the application reads exactly as it looks.
- **Previous overstay.** Any earlier overstay by the applicant sits on the record and is the single hardest thing to get past.
- **Name mismatches** between the passport, CNIC and ticket. An extra middle name on one document and not another is enough.

## Money, and the deposit question

No refundable security deposit appears in the official Emirates fee schedule. If an agent asks you for a large refundable deposit on top of the visa fee, that is the agent's own condition, not a UAE government requirement. Get it in writing, with the refund terms, before you hand over anything.

Quoted all-in prices around Pakistan run from roughly Rs 22,000 to well over Rs 100,000 depending on visa length and the agent's margin. Compare the agent's quote against the official fees in the table above. The gap is the service charge, and you are entitled to ask what it covers.

Do not. Fines accrue daily, they are collected at the airport on exit, and an overstay on your record is the fastest way to have every future UAE application refused, including a work visa. If your plans change, extend through the same agent before the stay period ends, not after.
