# Spotify plans a $4 to $5 AI add-on for Premium to remix songs and make covers, FT reports

Spotify is preparing an **optional AI add-on for Premium** that would let subscribers **remix existing songs** and **create cover versions in the style of any band**, at an extra **$4 to $5 a month**, the Financial Times reported, as [summarised by ARY News](https://arynews.tv/spotify-premium-users-face-price-increases-for-new-ai-music-remixing-tools) on Monday, 2 November 2026. Spotify has not announced the product.

Spotify sets its own lower prices for Pakistan, so a local price, if the add-on comes here at all, could be very different. ## Why it matters

A paid remix tool would put Spotify on the side of selling AI music features, not only policing them, and puts it ahead of rivals such as Qobuz, which is moving away from AI-generated music.
