# Trump wants an 'AI Force', an AI czar, and to stop calling it artificial

US President Donald Trump said on Saturday he will create an "AI Force" modelled on the Space Force, appoint an AI czar, and that the term artificial intelligence should be replaced.

The announcement came in a Truth Social post on 19 September 2026, not an executive order. No structure, budget or agency home for the AI Force was given.

## What he actually said

- **On the name.** He called "artificial intelligence" both "inaccurate, and very ineloquent", and posted a poll offering three replacements: Superior Intelligence, Extreme Intelligence or Supreme Intelligence.
- **On the AI Force.** Compared it to the Space Force he set up in his first term. No duties were specified.
- **On the czar.** "Announcing, in the near future, the AI 'Czar' - Only High I.Q. individuals need apply!" The last holder of that job, venture capitalist David Sacks, was appointed White House AI and Crypto Czar in December 2024 and his term as a special government employee ended in March 2026.
- **On safety.** He described fears about superintelligence as a hoax and said the existing criminal and civil justice systems are safeguard enough.
- **On the economy.** He called AI the next Industrial Revolution and said it could account for as much as 25 percent of GDP.
- **On regulation.** "We will not in any way hinder or stifle the Growth of this incredible Industry."

He gave no evidence for the 25 percent figure, and AI researchers including Anthropic chief executive Dario Amodei have publicly argued the opposite case on safety.

## Why a Pakistani reader should care

This is not a US-only story for anyone in Pakistan's IT sector, and there are three concrete channels.

**Freelance and outsourced work.** A US administration committed to no slowdown means demand for AI-adjacent contract work keeps growing, and Pakistan's freelancers sell into that market directly. The flip side is that the same tools compress the price of the routine work, content, basic front end, data labelling, that a lot of Pakistani sellers have lived on.

**Export receipts.** Pakistan's IT and IT-enabled services exports are the country's fastest growing foreign exchange earner. They are billed in dollars, and with the dollar at Rs 278.63 this morning, every dollar of export revenue converts higher than it did on Friday. ## The naming question is not as silly as it sounds

Renaming a technology at the level of government affects procurement categories, export control lists and which rules apply to what. Pakistan has no AI act of its own yet. The draft national AI policy has been circulating since 2023 and the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority handles what regulation exists in practice. If the biggest exporter of these systems relabels them, every country importing the technology eventually has to decide whether its own rules still point at the right thing.

For now, though, it is a social media post with a poll attached, and nothing in US law has changed.
