Pakistan beat Thailand by **3 wickets with 2 balls to spare** in a rain-shortened quarter-final at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, Japan, on 17 September. They are now in the Asian Games women's cricket semi-finals. Rain cut the match to 11 overs a side. Thailand made **91/4** and Pakistan chased it down at **92/7 in 10.4 overs**.

## How the match went

Pakistan won the toss and chose to bowl. Opener Nannapat Koncharoenkai kept Thailand going with 49 off 38 balls before captain Fatima Sana trapped her lbw. Phannita Maya retired out on 15 off 16 balls. Sana finished with 2 wickets for 22 runs in 3 overs, and Nashra Sandhu took 1 for 19.

Pakistan needed about 8.4 runs an over. Shawaal Zulfiqar gave them a quick start with 25 off 14 balls (3 fours, 1 six). Sana added 21 off 13 (3 fours, 1 six), and Tuba Hassan scored 13 off 7.

The chase then nearly fell apart. Onnicha Kamchomphu took 3 for 37, and Dawn reported that Pakistan slipped to **76/7**. Eman Naseer (3 not out) and Umm-e-Hani (2 not out) scored the last runs in the final over.
