The announcement was made in her speech; no notification, list of eligible students or delivery date has been published yet.

## What was announced

| --- | --- |
| Laptops | For position-holding students at the convocation |
| Buses | Five for Kinnaird College for Women |
| E-bikes | Plans to help women buy electric bikes on easy instalments |

ARY's report does not say how many students hold positions or which laptop model they will get. Position holders usually learn the details from the college's examinations office, so that is the place to ask.

## What else the chief minister said

- **Equal share in schemes:** she said government schemes that once gave 70% of places to boys and 30% to girls now offer equal access.
- **Vice-chancellors:** 22 Punjab universities had no vice-chancellor when she took office; she said all have since been appointed on merit, and that she interviewed candidates herself.
- **Safety on transport:** CCTV cameras and panic buttons on electric buses, which she said allow a quick response to harassment. She asked students to report incidents and parents to listen to their daughters.
- **Education for all:** every child should be able to study regardless of family income, she said.

## If you are a student in Punjab

- **Position holders at Kinnaird:** check with the college for how and when the laptops will be handed over.
- **Other students:** this announcement is not a new province-wide laptop scheme. Punjab's other student programmes, such as the CM Punjab Honhaar Scholarship, have their own portals and deadlines; apply only through official government sites, and never pay an agent.
- **Check your marks first:** most merit-based schemes set a minimum CGPA or percentage. Our [CGPA calculator](/tools/education/cgpa-calculator) converts your grades so you know where you stand before applying.

We will update this story if the Punjab government notifies the laptop distribution or extends it beyond Kinnaird.
