> SNGPL will cut gas from 9pm on 19 October in areas along Lehtrar Road and from 10pm in G-7 and Blue Area for pipeline work. Here is the full list.

Gas will be off in **Sector G-7, Blue Area** and a string of areas along **Lehtrar Road** in Islamabad on **Monday night, 19 October**, until **6am on Tuesday 20 October**, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) said in two shutdown alerts on its official X account, [ProPakistani reported](https://propakistani.pk/2026/10/18/gas-supply-to-remain-suspended-in-several-islamabad-areas/). [ARY News](https://arynews.tv/gas-shutdown-alert-issued-for-islamabad) carried the same schedule.

The supply goes off at **9pm** in most of the affected areas and at **10pm** in Blue Area. It is due back at 6am, so breakfast on Tuesday should not be affected.

## Islamabad gas shutdown schedule, 19 to 20 October

| Areas | Gas off | Gas back | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ghouri Town to Faizabad service road (east side), Lehtrar Road from Khanna Pul to Burma Town, Sohan, Ghouri Town, Gulberg Town, Shakrial, Rehman Garden, Burma Town, Garden Town and nearby areas | 9pm Monday | 6am Tuesday | Hook-up on the main pipeline between Faizabad and Khanna Pul |
| Sector G-7, Blue Area and nearby areas | 10pm Monday | 6am Tuesday | Disconnection of a main pipeline in Blue Area |

Both jobs are planned maintenance on SNGPL's main lines, not load shedding.

## What to do

- **Cook and fill flasks before 9pm** (10pm in G-7 and Blue Area) if you need hot water or food late at night.
- **Turn off every gas appliance**, including geysers and heaters, before the supply stops, as SNGPL advised. When gas returns at 6am, an appliance left open can leak.
- **Shops and dhabas in Blue Area** that stay open late should plan for no gas after 10pm.

ProPakistani noted that the federal government launched its winter gas management plan earlier in October.
