# LESCO shutdowns from today: 5 to 8 hours a day across 200 subdivisions in Lahore and nearby districts

## Which areas are affected

**Lahore:** Allama Iqbal Town, Gulshan-e-Ravi, Shadman, Johar Town, Model Town, Defence (DHA), Cantt and Walton Road, plus the industrial and commercial belts around Raiwind, Manga Mandi, Sundar and Jubilee Town.

**Nearby districts:** parts of Sheikhupura (including Qila Sattar Shah and Atta Abad), Kasur, Okara, Muridke, Farooqabad, Hujra Shah Muqeem and Phool Nagar.

No end date or feeder-by-feeder list has been published. Shutdowns are announced by grid station, so the time in your street depends on which 11kV feeder supplies it.

## Why the power is off

LESCO is working on its **132kV and 220kV grid stations** and the 11kV feeders that run from them before winter: replacing worn conductors and insulators, trimming tree branches near high-voltage lines, overhauling grid stations and splitting overloaded feeders. Some field offices have reported late delivery of equipment and spare parts, which could slow restoration on some days.
