> Every overseas job that a licensed Pakistani agency may recruit for carries a Permission Tracking Number listed on the Bureau of Emigration's website. If the advert has no PTN, or the PTN is not listed, walk away.

**Before you pay a recruiting agent for a job abroad, check the advert's Permission Tracking Number (PTN) on the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) website**, the bureau has reminded job seekers, [ARY News reported](https://arynews.tv/beoe-portal-allows-job-seekers-to-verify-overseas-employment) on Sunday 25 October 2026. The listings are at [beoe.gov.pk/foreign-jobs](https://beoe.gov.pk/foreign-jobs) and on the bureau's Facebook page.

## How the check works

1. **Find the PTN in the advert.** Every recruitment permission issued to a licensed overseas employment promoter has a unique PTN, and the rules say it must be printed in every job advertisement.
2. **Search it on the BEOE site.** Once permission is granted, the job details (employer, country, trade and number of posts) appear on the website under that PTN for as long as the recruitment drive runs.
3. **Match the details.** The country, job title and employer in the agent's offer should be the same as the BEOE listing.
4. **Note that filled jobs disappear.** A listing is removed automatically once all its posts are filled, so a PTN that no longer shows may mean the drive is over.

## Why a PTN means something

Under the **Emigration Rules 1979**, the Protector of Emigrants gives a licensed agency permission to recruit for a fixed period, and only after the foreign employer's demand has been checked by Pakistan's embassy in that country, the host country's foreign ministry and that country's embassy in Pakistan. An advert without a PTN has been through none of that.

The licensed agency carries full responsibility for the workers it sends. If something goes wrong, before or after you travel, you can complain to the BEOE or to the Protector of Emigrants office for your area.

## Red flags to watch for

- No PTN in the advert, or a PTN that does not show on the BEOE site.
- An agent who asks for large cash payments with no receipt, or keeps your passport.

## Frequently asked questions

**How can I verify an overseas job in Pakistan?**

Find the Permission Tracking Number (PTN) in the job advert and search it on the BEOE foreign jobs page at beoe.gov.pk/foreign-jobs. The employer, country and trade should match the offer.

**What is a PTN?**

A Permission Tracking Number is the unique number the Protector of Emigrants issues when a licensed agency is allowed to recruit for a foreign employer. It must appear in every job advert.
