> Saudi Arabia's Energy Ministry reported a limited fire and no casualties at the Aramco complex. Separately, missile debris injured four people in Riyadh and damaged 15 homes.

**An administrative building at Saudi Aramco's headquarters complex in Dhahran, in Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province, was attacked late on Tuesday 13 October, causing what the Saudi Energy Ministry called a "limited fire".** The ministry said no one was killed or injured at the Dhahran site, [ARY News reported](https://arynews.tv/saudi-aramco-administrative-building-attacked-limited-fire-reported), citing Reuters.

## What we know

- **The strike.** A company source told Reuters that a ballistic missile hit the headquarters complex, striking an office tower and damaging its top three floors. The source and two others said the building caught fire. Six people told Reuters they heard loud booms near the complex.
- **Casualties.** None at Dhahran, according to the Energy Ministry. In Riyadh, four people were injured by debris from a missile, and the debris caused limited damage to 15 homes.
- **Interception.** The Saudi-led coalition said fragments of a missile it intercepted over Dhahran fell on a residential area.
- **Who fired it.** No one had claimed the Dhahran attack in the report. Yemen's Houthis have been firing missiles and drones at Saudi targets, and their spokesperson had named Aramco's Dhahran headquarters as a possible target. The attack came a day after the Saudi-led coalition struck Houthi fuel sites in Sanaa, Hodeidah and Dhamar ([our earlier story](/news/world/saudi-led-coalition-strikes-houthi-fuel-sites-in-sanaa-hodeidah-and-dhamar)).

## Why it matters in Pakistan

**Workers and families.** Millions of Pakistanis live and work in Saudi Arabia, including in the Eastern Province cities of Dhahran, Dammam and Al Khobar. Anyone with family there should follow instructions from Saudi civil defence and the Pakistani embassy in Riyadh and consulate in Jeddah.

**Remittances.** Families who depend on money sent from Saudi Arabia can check today's rate before sending with our [Saudi riyal to rupee page](/data/sar-pkr) and [currency converter](/tools/finance/currency-converter).

**Fuel.** Pakistan's petrol and diesel prices are now set daily by OGRA on international prices, so attacks on Saudi oil infrastructure can reach the pump within days. From 14 October petrol is Rs 392.66 a litre and diesel Rs 396.82, [Dawn reported](https://www.dawn.com/news/2036924/govt-reduces-petrol-price-by-rs271-per-litre-high-speed-diesel-rate-by-re003); follow the moves on our [petrol price](/data/petrol-price) and [diesel price](/data/diesel-price) pages, and work out a tank with the [fuel cost calculator](/tools/cars/fuel-cost-calculator).

We will update this story as the Saudi authorities release more details.
