> The Saudi Interior Ministry says filming or sharing interceptions and impact sites can bring legal action. Forwarding a clip on WhatsApp counts too.

**Saudi Arabia's Ministry of Interior has warned everyone in the kingdom, citizens and foreign residents alike, not to film, photograph, post or forward videos of missile and drone interceptions or of the places where missiles, drones or debris come down.** Doing so can "expose individuals to legal liability", the ministry said on Tuesday 6 October 2026, [Gulf News reported](https://gulfnews.com/world/gulf/saudi/saudi-arabia-warns-against-filming-missile-drone-interceptions-and-impact-sites-1.500699974). It treats such footage as a threat to national security, [ProPakistani reported](https://propakistani.pk/2026/10/06/saudi-arabia-bans-filming-and-sharing-missile-and-drone-videos/).

For the very large Pakistani community working in Saudi Arabia, this is a rule to take seriously. A clip of an interception filmed on a phone and dropped into a family WhatsApp group in Pakistan is exactly what the ministry is warning about.

## What is not allowed

- **Filming or photographing** a missile or drone being intercepted.
- **Filming impact sites**, including wreckage or debris on the ground.
- **Publishing or sharing** such images, videos or details on social media or messaging apps, including forwarding something someone else filmed.

The ministry has not published fines or prison terms for this warning. It is not new: the ministry gave the same warning on 27 March 2026, saying violators "would be subject to legal accountability", [Arab News reported](https://www.arabnews.com/node/2637894/saudi-arabia). Neighbouring Kuwait arrested a motorist for filming air-defence interceptions, Gulf News noted.

## What Pakistanis in Saudi Arabia should do

1. **Do not record.** If you see an interception, move to safety and follow official instructions instead of reaching for your phone.
2. **Do not forward** interception or debris videos, even ones already going viral. Delete them from groups you manage.
3. **Report sightings officially.** Saudi authorities run a reporting service in the Tawakkalna app for suspicious aerial objects, Arab News said.
4. **Tell family at home** not to tag you in or reshare such clips; a post shared from Pakistan can still be traced back to the person who filmed it.
