Director General (Medical Services), WAPDA, Lahore

WAPDA wants a Director General (Medical Services), BPS-20, based in Lahore. This is a contract post. The DG will run all medical, clinical and administrative work at WAPDA hospitals and dispensaries across the country.

Requirements

  • An MBBS or equivalent qualification recognised by the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council
  • 20 years of service in a public, private or military hospital or institution, including 5 years of medical administration
  • Three or more years as Medical Superintendent or Deputy Medical Superintendent gets preference
  • Maximum age: 62 years

What WAPDA wants the DG to bring

  • Leadership of medical services across the country and long-term health policy
  • Command of hospital operations, clinical governance and quality standards
  • Budgeting, procurement and resource planning
  • Knowledge of PMC, DRAP and PPRA rules and healthcare licensing
  • The ability to manage performance and staff development
  • The ability to respond to outbreaks and emergencies

Pay and tenure

  • A lump sum of Rs. 525,000 per month, covering all perks and facilities
  • An initial three year term with six months of probation, which can be extended if performance is satisfactory
  • No regularisation at any stage
