Privacy Policy: What Searchable Collects and Why
What Searchable Pakistan collects when you read, search, sign up or list a business, why we keep it, who else sees it, and how to see or delete your data.
What we collect
- Search queries, stored without identifying you, to improve results and decide what to build.
- Calculator inputs, stored in aggregate, anonymously, to understand usage. Calculations run in your browser.
- Newsletter, your email and topic preferences, with double opt-in. Unsubscribe with one click.
- Account, name, email and a password hash if you create an account.
- Business enquiries, the name, phone and message you send to a business are passed to that business only.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data. We do not pass your searches, calculator inputs or anything you type to advertisers.
Cookies and analytics
A session cookie if you sign in. Our own analytics are first-party and aggregated. We also use Microsoft Clarity to see how pages are used (heatmaps and anonymised session recordings); Clarity sets its own cookies and is covered by Microsoft's privacy statement. Text you type into forms is masked before it reaches Clarity, and Clarity never runs on account or admin pages. We count visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and does not identify you.
Advertising
Searchable is funded by advertising. Some placements are sold directly to Pakistani businesses and are labelled Advertisement or Sponsored; those carry no tracking beyond a click count. We also show ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies (including the DoubleClick cookie) to show ads based on your visits to this and other sites, and to measure them. You can turn off personalised ads at Google's Ads Settings and opt out of other vendors' cookies at aboutads.info. Ads never appear inside calculators or over their results, and no ad changes what a page says.
