About
LRBT's North Karachi eye hospital opened on 2 January 2012 as the fourteenth hospital in the Layton Rahmatulla Benevolent Trust network, and gives free eye treatment to people who cannot pay. LRBT reports a daily average of about 317 outpatients and 50 cataract operations. An expansion in 2018 brought four operating tables, three with phacoemulsification machines, and the hospital has male and female wards, screening, refraction, B-scan and biometry rooms, a laboratory, pharmacy, optical centre and green and YAG lasers.
