Malir University of Science and Technology is an HEC-recognised university in Koohi Goth, Bin Qasim Town, Karachi, set up in 2017 as an extension of the Zafar and Atia Foundation Charitable Trust. Tuition is free: every student studies on a full tuition scholarship, which the university values at Rs 75,000 to 85,000. Students still pay service charges, including Rs 2,500 admission processing, a Rs 15,000 admission fee, Rs 10,000 a year for the library and Rs 5,000 per semester final exam; MLT students also pay Rs 10,000 for clinical labs. Undergraduate programmes are BS Psychology, BS Public Health, BS Medical Laboratory Technology and BS Nursing (Generic, under PNC rules). Applicants need intermediate with at least 50% marks (Pre-Medical for the health programmes), and selection is by entry test and interview. Admissions for Fall 2026 were open at the time of checking.
