About

National Defence University, located in Sector E-9, Islamabad, combines senior military education with civilian degree programmes. Its constituent colleges and institutes include the Command and Staff College, Pakistan Navy War College, School of Artillery, the Faculty of Security Studies, the Institute for Strategic Studies, Research and Analysis (ISSRA), the National War Gaming Centre and an Allied Officers Division. Civilian students study through the Faculty of Contemporary Studies, which offers BS (4 years), MS/MPhil and PhD programmes in Government and Public Policy, Peace and Conflict Studies, Strategic Studies, International Relations, Leadership and Management Studies and Economics, along with Mass Communication and postgraduate diplomas. Depending on the department, admissions are offered twice a year (Spring and Fall) or once a year, on merit, with entry tests and GAT results used for graduate programmes; merit lists, eligibility rules and fee structure are posted on the admissions page.
