FAST (National University of Computer and Emerging Sciences) is a federally chartered university founded in July 2000, headquartered at FAST House, Rohtas Road, G-9/4, Islamabad, with campuses in Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Chiniot-Faisalabad and Multan. It is best known for computing and engineering: bachelor programmes include BS Computer Science, Software Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering, alongside BBA, BS Accounting and Finance, Business Analytics and FinTech. It also runs MS, MBA and PhD programmes in areas such as computer science, electrical engineering, mathematics and linguistics. Admission is once a year for the Fall intake: the 2026 schedule had online applications from late May to late June, admission tests in late June and early July, merit lists in late July and classes starting mid August. For 2026-27 the published tuition is Rs 12,000 per credit hour for BS, MS and PhD, plus a one-time Rs 30,000 admission fee and a refundable Rs 20,000 security deposit.
