The University of Engineering & Technology (UET) Taxila is an engineering university in Taxila. Its website traces its origins to the University College of Engineering Taxila, which was set up when growing enrolment in the 1970s led to plans for more campuses of UET Lahore. Teaching is organised into six faculties: Civil and Environmental Engineering (Civil, Environmental), Electronics and Electrical Engineering (Electrical, Electronics, Biomedical Engineering Technology), Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering (Mechanical, Metallurgy & Materials, Energy, Mechatronics), Telecommunication and Information Engineering (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Telecommunication), Industrial Engineering, and Basic Sciences and Humanities (Humanities & Social Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physical Sciences).
