The Finance Division is hiring a Director General (Debt) to head its Debt Management Office (DMO). The post is advertised on the National Jobs Portal as a contract appointment in SPPS-I, one vacancy.

The job

The DG leads the DMO: approving the Medium-Term Debt Management Strategy and the Annual Borrowing Plan in line with the FRDL Act 2025, overseeing domestic and external borrowing and debt risk benchmarks, running investor relations, and dealing with the Finance Secretary, the State Bank, EAD, the IMF, development partners and rating agencies. Statutory debt publications and fiscal risk disclosures also sit with this office.

Who qualifies

  • At least 16 years of education or a Master's in finance, economics or a related field from an HEC-recognised or reputable foreign institution, or a CFA charter or FRM.
  • At least 17 years of officer-cadre service in finance, public debt management, treasury or financial and capital markets, including 5 years in a leadership role equal to BS-20.
  • A working grasp of how debt management links to monetary policy and cash management, IFI and market financing, and tools such as Bloomberg, Reuters and Excel; strong English and Urdu.
