Director General (MP-I), Pakistan Institute of Education, Islamabad

The Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training is hiring a Director General to head the Pakistan Institute of Education (PIE) in Islamabad. There is one post, on contract for an initial three years, extendable on performance. The post is in the MP-I management pay scale; the advertisement on the National Jobs Portal does not give a rupee figure.

Who qualifies

• A PhD in social sciences, management, public policy, administrative sciences, or numerical or mathematical sciences with data science, plus 7 years of professional experience; or
• A master's degree in one of those fields plus 9 years of experience.
• Open to men and women on merit; the test city is Islamabad.

The job

The DG sets PIE's strategy, runs its education research, national assessments and data systems, advises the federal government on education policy and reform, and builds links with the provinces, universities and development partners. Targets include delivering PIE's strategic plan and strengthening Pakistan's place in international learning benchmarks.
