Tax Lawyer (SPPS-III), Finance Division, Islamabad

The Finance Division, Government of Pakistan, is hiring one Tax Lawyer on contract in the SPPS-III pay package. The vacancy was posted on the National Jobs Portal on 16 October 2026.

The job

• Drafting the provisions of tax statutes in the Finance Bill and turning budget proposals into precise legal text
• Keeping amendments consistent within and across tax laws, and with the Constitution and other laws
• Advising on the wording and implications of proposed fiscal measures
• Giving inputs to defend tax amendments challenged in the courts
• Coordinating with the Law and Justice Division for vetting

Who qualifies

• LLM from an HEC-recognised university, preferably in taxation (the portal accepts a range of LLM specialisations, including corporate, commercial and international law)
• At least 10 years of experience
• Knowledge of court procedure, civil and criminal law, and the constitutional provisions on taxation and fiscal federalism
• Ability to work to budget-cycle deadlines
