Bend, Oregon school shooting: three children and a teacher killed at Silver Rail Elementary
Police say the gunman, reported to be 16, was shot dead, possibly by a bystander, within minutes. At least two others are in hospital, and the full number of victims is not yet clear.
At least three children and one adult were killed when a gunman opened fire at Silver Rail Elementary School in Bend, Oregon, on Thursday 15 October, CBS News reported, citing several law enforcement sources. CBS News reported that the adult killed was a teacher; Al Jazeera also reported at least four dead, three of them children. The shooting happened just before 1pm local time, which was about 1am Friday in Pakistan.
The suspect, reported to be 16 years old, was shot dead at the school. Bend Police said it was not yet clear who shot him and that it "may have been a bystander". At least two people were taken to St. Charles Medical Center, and police said the total number of victims was still not clear on Thursday evening.

What happens next
