Driving licence check online: DLIMS Punjab and DLS Sindh verification (2026)

If you want to check a driving licence online in Pakistan, the portal you use depends on where the licence was issued. Punjab and Sindh each run their own system, and a Punjab licence will not show up on the Sindh portal or the other way round.

Both checks are free, take under a minute, and need no login.

Punjab: DLIMS

The Punjab portal is at dlims.punjab.gov.pk, run by Punjab Police.

To verify a licence:

1. Open dlims.punjab.gov.pk and click Verify License.
2. Choose the licence type. Regular and International licences are verified with CNIC or passport number plus the licence number. A Juvenile licence is verified with passport number plus licence number.
3. Answer the arithmetic security question on the form (it shows something like "What is 3 + 2").
4. Submit.

That is the whole check. There is no fee and no account.

What else DLIMS does

The same portal handles the full licence life cycle: learner licence, regular licence, international licence, renewal and duplicate. Applications are tracked in a personal dashboard with real-time status updates, and payments run through the Punjab ePay system.

For an online application you upload:

• A photograph.
• A scan or photo of the front of your CNIC.
• A scan or photo of the back of your CNIC.
• A medical certificate, if you are over 50.

The Punjab learner licence fee is Rs 500 for each category (motorcycle, car and so on). If you want a motorcycle and a car learner licence, that is two categories.

Sindh: DLS

The Sindh portal is at dls.gos.pk, run by the Driving License Branch of Sindh Police.

To verify a licence:

1. Open dls.gos.pk and click Verify Your License, or go straight to the online verification page.
2. Enter the name, the licence number and the CNIC number.
3. Submit.

The result shows the licence type, the licence category, the holder's father or husband name, the issuing branch, the issue date and the expiry date. If nothing matches, it returns "No license record found", which is the answer you want if you are checking whether a licence someone has shown you is real.

Sindh fee structure

These are the figures published on the DLS Sindh fee page. Confirm at the branch before you pay, because provincial schedules are revised without much notice.

Renewal in Sindh is cheaper if you do it on time. Renewing within 30 days of expiry costs Rs 310 (3 year) or Rs 460 (5 year) for a motorcycle, and Rs 560 or Rs 860 for a car. Renewing after 30 days costs Rs 435 or Rs 660 for a motorcycle, and Rs 810 or Rs 1,260 for a car. Letting the 30 days lapse on a five year car licence costs you Rs 400 extra for nothing.

Four mistakes that make the check fail

Wrong portal. A Lahore licence checked on dls.gos.pk returns nothing, and people read that as a fake licence. Check the issuing province first. The licence card states the issuing authority.

Licence number typed from memory. The Punjab and Sindh formats both include the CNIC, and the suffix after the hash is the part people get wrong. Read it off the card.

Name spelling on the Sindh form. Sindh asks for the name as well as the CNIC, and it has to match the record, not your passport spelling.

Expired is not the same as fake. A verification that returns a record with a past expiry date means the licence is genuine and lapsed. That is a renewal problem, not a forgery problem, and in Sindh the renewal fee jumps once you are 30 days past expiry.

Checking someone else's licence

Both portals let you verify a licence you have not been issued, as long as you have the licence number and the CNIC on it. That is the intended use: the Sindh site's own line is aimed at people driving without a licence or with a fake one. It is worth doing before you hire a driver, hand over a vehicle, or accept a licence as ID.

What the check will not tell you is whether there are unpaid challans against the vehicle. That is a separate provincial system.

Other provinces

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Islamabad and Azad Jammu and Kashmir issue through their own traffic police departments, and online verification for those is patchy. For an Islamabad licence, the Islamabad Traffic Police licence branch at H-11 is still the reliable route.
