Meta's Muse Wonder AI model costs $20 or $100 a month: about Rs 5,540 to Rs 27,700 in Pakistan
Meta has put its most advanced assistant model behind a paywall in the Muse app, with a stronger Wonder Full version for coders at $50 or $200. What you get and what Meta says about privacy.

Meta's newest AI model, Muse Wonder, is not free. The company released it on Monday 12 October 2026 as its most capable model for running digital assistants, and the only way for ordinary users to get it is a $20 or $100 monthly subscription to its Muse personal agent app, CNBC reported. At today's interbank rate that is about Rs 5,540 or Rs 27,700 a month (our conversion at Rs 276.97 to the dollar, before any card or tax charges your bank adds).
It is Meta's clearest attempt yet to earn money from AI directly rather than through advertising, the business that pays for almost everything else it does.
The Muse Wonder line-up
| Product | Who it is for | Price a month | In rupees (our conversion) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Muse app with Muse Wonder | Everyday users | $20 or $100 | about Rs 5,540 or Rs 27,700 |
| Meta Model API | Developers | Above the standard plans; not yet published | n/a |
| Muse Code with Muse Wonder Full | Software engineers | $50 or $200 | about Rs 13,850 or Rs 55,390 |
The Muse app itself stays free, with paid plans for heavier use; it is the new model that sits behind the paywall. Muse Wonder Full, a more powerful version, is limited to Muse Code, Meta's coding agent.
What Meta says it does better
Meta AI chief Alexandr Wang told CNBC the model, codenamed Watermelon, was trained to keep going on real-world tasks such as booking a dinner table or checking availability, instead of stopping to ask the user what to do. "We specifically tried to train the model to be able to try other approaches instead of stalling and then checking back in with the user at any time," he said.
Meta's blog post says the model has its "strongest safeguards to date" against "cyber misuse", protections that for now come only with the paid model. Wang said the API version will cost more than the consumer plans because it is "much larger" and "at frontier level", but still "meaningfully below" the leading models from OpenAI and Anthropic.
The privacy question
Muse went to the top of Apple's App Store after Meta launched the agent app last month. Some users have since complained on social media that the agent read personal messages without permission, which Meta disputes. Wang said some users may have authorised a message earlier in a conversation and forgotten, and that Meta is teaching people how the app works "to ensure that consumers can trust the product going forward".
Is it worth it from Pakistan?
Paying for AI tools in dollars is already routine for Pakistani freelancers and developers, and Meta now joins the $20 tier set by its rivals. Before signing up, check what a dollar subscription really costs you: our currency converter and the dollar rate page give today's rate, and if you bill foreign clients, the freelancer tax calculator shows what is left after tax. Meta has not said whether Muse Wonder's price or availability differs by country. For the other big AI chip and model news today, see Microsoft's Maia 300.
