BISE Bannu, DI Khan postpone 7 to 10 October matric papers; DI Khan resumes 12 October
Mobile and internet services are off in southern KP, so the boards have pushed back this week's SSC Annual-II papers. Bannu will issue a new date sheet.
BISE Bannu and BISE DI Khan have postponed this week's matric (SSC) papers set for 7, 8, 9 and 10 October 2026, because mobile phone and internet services are suspended in their districts. DI Khan's papers now start on Monday 12 October; Bannu has not given new dates yet and says a revised schedule will be issued separately, Dawn reported.
If you or your child is sitting the SSC Annual-II exam in Bannu, Lakki Marwat, North Waziristan or the DI Khan division, there is no paper on Wednesday to Saturday this week.
BISE Bannu: SSC Annual-II papers postponed, no new date
The Bannu board's notification, issued on 3 October by its chairman, covers the SSC Annual-II and Oriental Languages Examination 2026. It cites "the prevailing security situation" and the suspension of mobile phone and internet services, which the board says would stop roll number slips, duty letters, papers and stationery from reaching exam centres on time.
- Postponed: papers on 7, 8, 9 and 10 October
- Districts: Bannu, Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan
- New dates: not announced; the board will issue a revised date sheet
BISE DI Khan: matric papers move to 12 October
Controller of Examinations Qaiser Anwar said the board's matric papers from 7 to 10 October are rescheduled, with exams now starting on 12 October. The board gave the mobile service suspension as the reason. Check the revised date sheet before going to the centre: the order of papers may have changed, not only the start date.
What to do now
- Keep your roll number slip. The same slip and centre remain valid unless the board says otherwise.
- Check for the revised date sheet on the board's notice board or official website once services return, not on WhatsApp forwards, which often carry old or fake schedules.
- Do not travel to the centre on 7 to 10 October for these papers.
- Use the extra days for the subjects that were due first this week.
Why the services are off
Mobile and internet services have been suspended in parts of southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during security operations; Bannu has had several militant attacks in recent weeks, Dawn said. The Pakistan Institute for Conflict and Security Studies recorded the highest monthly number of attacks in 12 years in September 2026.
Other boards are running their second annual exams on schedule: BISE Rawalpindi's matric Annual-II papers began on 6 October. For other results and dates, see our 12th class result page, and work out your age on the exam date for admission forms with the age calculator.
We will add the new Bannu date sheet here as soon as the board issues it.
