Who can apply

  • MDCAT: a pass in MDCAT 2024, 2025 or 2026.
  • MBBS: at least 55% in MDCAT.
  • BDS: at least 50% in MDCAT.
  • Private colleges: FSc Pre-Medical or equivalent with at least 60% marks.
  • Public colleges: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or merged districts domicile, as reported by Eduvision.

How KMU works out merit

KMU's aggregate gives 10% to Matric (SSC), 40% to FSc (HSSC) and 50% to MDCAT.

Worked example: Matric 1,000 out of 1,100 (90.9%), FSc 950 out of 1,100 (86.4%), MDCAT 160 out of 200 (80%).

  • Matric: 90.9 x 0.10 = 9.09
  • FSc: 86.4 x 0.40 = 34.55
  • MDCAT: 80 x 0.50 = 40.00
  • Aggregate: 83.64%

Our MDCAT aggregate calculator does the arithmetic for other formulas; check which weights it is set to before comparing.

Which colleges are covered

  • Public: nine public-sector medical colleges and four dental colleges in KP, reciprocal seats in Punjab and Azad Kashmir medical colleges, plus KMU's own institutes in Kohat (KIMS and KIDS).
  • Private: ten medical colleges, including Abbottabad International Medical College, Frontier Medical College and five in Peshawar, and five dental colleges in Abbottabad and Peshawar.

How to apply

  1. Apply online only. KMU has moved private college admissions to its central portal and does not accept printed forms. The public-sector portal is cas.kmu.edu.pk.
  2. Keep scans of your Matric and FSc certificates, MDCAT result card, CNIC or B-Form and domicile ready.
  3. Check every figure before submitting: KMU says it will not accept incomplete or deficient applications and can cancel an admission if a fake document turns up later.
