ASML Q3 profit hits EUR 4.96 billion, beating forecasts, as chipmakers ask about orders for 2029 and 2030

ASML's third-quarter 2026 results beat profit forecasts: net profit came in at EUR 4.96 billion against the EUR 4.1 billion analysts expected, CNBC reported on 14 October, citing LSEG estimates. Net sales were EUR 11.66 billion, just under the EUR 11.72 billion expected.

In rupees, at today's euro rate of Rs 310, that is about Rs 1.54 trillion of profit on Rs 3.61 trillion of sales in three months.

ASML shares rose about 2% in early trade in Amsterdam and are up 56% this year.

The numbers

2026 guidance: net sales of EUR 44 billion to EUR 45 billion, up from a previous lower end of EUR 43 billion.

Q4 guidance: EUR 14.2 billion to EUR 15.2 billion; consensus was EUR 14.2 billion.

China: still expected to be about 20% of sales. ASML cannot sell its EUV tools, or some DUV tools, to China.

Orders as far out as 2030

Chief executive Christophe Fouquet said customers keep raising their equipment forecasts "driven primarily by their views on the size and duration of AI-related investments", and that some want to place orders for 2029 and even 2030. Supply planned for 2027 and 2028 will not fully meet demand, and ASML is looking at raising 2028 capacity beyond the 30% increase it had planned.

During the quarter Samsung and TSMC both committed to ASML's next-generation High NA EUV machines.
