IESCO shutdown schedule today: 24 feeders in Islamabad and Pindi off 8am to noon, 29 Sep

This page lists the Islamabad Electric Supply Company's (IESCO) announced power shutdowns for maintenance and development work, newest first. We update it each time IESCO publishes a new schedule. These are planned shutdowns, separate from unscheduled load shedding.

Tuesday, 29 September 2026: 8am to 12 noon (IESCO shutdown today)

Updated Tuesday 29 September 2026, 6:55am PKT. IESCO will cut supply on 24 feeders across Islamabad and Rawalpindi from 8:00am to 12:00 noon today, a four-hour window, so that 11kV lines can be shifted for the widening of the main service road from Faizabad to Gulberg Green and from Khawaja Corporation Chowk.

Punjab House, Bari Imam, Pir Sohawa and Saidpur were also off last Friday. Sohan, Service Road and the Adyala Road feeders are new to this list, so homes and shops along the Islamabad Expressway service road and on Adyala Road in Rawalpindi should plan for a morning without grid power. Supply can return earlier if the crews finish, or later if the work overruns.

Friday, 25 September 2026: 8am to 12 noon

IESCO will switch off supply on 11 feeders in Islamabad from 8:00am to 12:00 noon so that poles and other installations can be shifted for the district administration's development works: flyovers and underpasses, new 11kV feeders and road widening.

• Mahfooz Shaheed / Shehzad Town
• Filtration Plant
• Pindorian Scheme-2
• Orchard Scheme
• CDA Pump

Adjoining areas in IESCO's Islamabad Circle fed from these lines may also be affected. Supply can come back earlier if the work finishes, or later if it overruns.

How to prepare for a shutdown

• Water: CDA Pump and Filtration Plant feeders are on the list, so fill tanks the night before.
• Backup: a UPS or solar battery needs a full charge before 8am. Our battery backup calculator shows how many hours your battery will run your fans, lights and router.
• Fridges and freezers: keep the doors shut until supply returns.
• Work from home: plan calls after noon.
• Road users: the Faizabad to Gulberg Green service road is being widened, so expect lane closures on the Expressway side while the lines are moved.
