Man City 3-2 Ipswich

Phil Foden put City ahead before Daizen Maeda equalised. Erling Haaland headed City back in front from Mateo Kovacic's cross before half-time and scored again in the 69th minute; he also had a third ruled out for offside. Zian Flemming's stoppage-time penalty made the finish nervy, but City stay top with a perfect record. ESPN reported that City manager Enzo Maresca played down fears over Haaland after he limped off.

Brentford 1-2 Liverpool

Keane Lewis-Potter gave Brentford the lead, but the game turned on two red cards. Yehor Yarmolyuk was sent off for a head-butt just before half-time after a VAR check, and Vitaly Janelt later went for a second yellow card for a foul on Rio Ngumoha. Victor Munoz equalised in the 62nd minute and Alexander Isak, set up by Bradley Barcola, scored the winner eight minutes later. Liverpool move up to fifth on 12 points.

Chelsea 2-0 Everton

Pedro Neto scored 43 seconds after the restart and again in the 90th minute, ending Everton's unbeaten start. Chelsea's goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez was stretchered off after a collision with Jarrad Branthwaite, after an 11-minute stoppage. He left the stadium conscious and went to hospital for precautionary tests. Mike Penders, 21, made his Premier League debut in his place, and Chelsea kept their first league clean sheet in 23 games to move fourth on 13 points.

Fulham 1-0 Hull

Alex Iwobi's 33rd-minute goal gave Fulham their first league win of the season and lifted them off the bottom, to 15th.
