Semenyo out for up to eight weeks, Haaland a doubt as Man City face AEK Athens on Tuesday
Antoine Semenyo hurt his knee against Ipswich and Erling Haaland took a knock in stoppage time. City need points in the Champions League after the 4-2 defeat by PSG.

Manchester City forward Antoine Semenyo could miss up to eight weeks with a knee injury, and Erling Haaland is a doubt for Tuesday's Champions League game at home to AEK Athens, City manager Enzo Maresca said on Monday 19 October, ARY News reported.
The two injuries
| Player | Injury | Outlook |
|---|---|---|
| Antoine Semenyo | Knee, limped off against Ipswich | "Could be eight weeks", not as bad as first feared |
| Erling Haaland | Knock to foot and ankle in stoppage time against Ipswich | "He can be available, we will see" |
Semenyo came on in the 77th minute of Saturday's 3-2 home win over Ipswich Town and went off hurt. Eight weeks would rule him out until about mid-December, a run of league and Champions League games.
Haaland scored twice against Ipswich and has scored in each of his last eight City appearances, 12 goals in all, so his fitness is the bigger worry for Tuesday. Maresca said Phil Foden "can be one of the solutions" if Haaland does not play.
Why the AEK game matters
City are unbeaten in the Premier League after seven straight wins, but Europe has gone badly: the 4-2 home defeat by Paris Saint-Germain last week left them 17th in the Champions League table with three points from two games. In the 36-team league phase, the top eight go straight to the last 16 and teams from 9th to 24th play a knock-out play-off, so a home win over AEK is close to a must.
