Apple HomeView smart display launched at $299 with new HomePod mini and Apple TV 4K

Apple announced HomeView, its first smart display for the home, at its "Welcome Home" event on Tuesday, 13 October 2026, along with a new HomePod mini and the first new Apple TV 4K since 2022. HomeView costs $299 in the US, about Rs 82,800 at today's interbank dollar rate of Rs 276.96, before any import duty or reseller margin in Pakistan.

Pre-orders for all three opened in the US on 13 October, TechCrunch reported.

HomeView: Apple's answer to Echo Show and Nest Hub

• A screen of about 7 inches in a HomePod-like body, in a countertop model and a wall-mounted model.
• Colours: silver, starlight, rose pink and space gray.
• One front FaceTime camera, with speakers and microphones in the base.
• Controls smart home devices, plays music and video, shows photo slideshows and runs Calendar, Messages, Notes, Reminders, Music and Podcasts.
• Runs Apple's new Siri AI and recognises each member of the household, showing each person their own messages, calendar and contacts.

HomePod mini 2

The new HomePod mini costs $149, $50 more than the 2020 original. It gets a new S10 chip for louder, fuller sound, can listen for smoke alarms and send an alert to your phone, and has a "Sound Glow" top that lights up in colours taken from album art. It comes in pink, green, blue, white and midnight. Siri AI with multi-turn conversations is coming to it later through a software update, with no date given.

Apple TV 4K

The new Apple TV 4K runs on an A19 chip, has three far-field microphones so you can talk to Siri without the remote, and pairs with HomePod mini 2 or HomePod speakers for four-speaker surround sound. The remote now has a small speaker so you can find it when it slips down the sofa. Bloomberg had reported that Apple wanted to launch it in 2024 before delays to the new Siri pushed it back, TechCrunch noted.

Apple also showed a home security range with a smart lock, a thermostat and video doorbells.
