Xiaomi HyperOS 4 rollout: 82 Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco devices get the update by December
The first wave covers the Xiaomi 17 and 15 series, Redmi Note 17 and Note 15 and Poco F8 and X8. Older phones such as the Redmi Note 14 and Xiaomi 13T follow in December.

Xiaomi HyperOS 4, the Android 17-based update, has started its global stable rollout to 82 phones and tablets across the Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco brands, in three waves running to December 2026, TechRepublic reported from Xiaomi's published schedule. The global rollout began on Tuesday 3 November. Xiaomi, Redmi and Poco phones are widely used in Pakistan, so many handsets here are in line for it.
Which phones get HyperOS 4, and when
| Wave | Devices |
|---|---|
| Early November | Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 15 series, Redmi Note 17 and Redmi Note 15 families, Poco F8 and Poco X8 lineups, Xiaomi Pad 8 |
| Mid-November | Xiaomi 15T series, Poco F7 and Poco F9 families, Xiaomi Pad 7, Pad Mini, several Redmi and Poco tablets |
| December | Xiaomi 13 and Xiaomi 14 series, Xiaomi 13T lineup, MIX Flip, Redmi Note 14 family, Poco F6 series |
These are windows, not fixed dates. Xiaomi releases in stages by model and region, so a phone in Pakistan may get the notification days or weeks after a phone of the same model elsewhere. The full lists by wave are on Xiaomi's HyperOS 4 page.
What is new
- A new look: Xiaomi calls it "soft light glass", with transparency and light effects, a resizable clock on the lock screen, stacked notifications, resizable home-screen folders and stacked widgets.
- Speed: in Xiaomi's own tests, launching 30 apps after nine hours of use took 36.8 seconds instead of 40.3 seconds on HyperOS 3, about 8.7% faster, and rear-camera HDR capture dropped from 313 ms to 240 ms. These are the company's figures, not independent tests.
- AI: AI voice notes that turn recordings into structured notes, to-do lists and mind maps, and AI speech recognition for meetings. The Super XiaoAi 2.0 assistant, built on Xiaomi's MiMo model, is largely limited to Chinese software for now, so global phones may not get every feature.
Before you update
- Free up space: the download is large. Notebookcheck reported that the Poco F8 Pro update is over 8 GB when installed over HyperOS 3.
- Back up photos and WhatsApp chats first.
- Check for it in Settings, About phone, then tap the HyperOS version. If nothing shows, wait: the rollout is staggered.
- Charge to at least 50% and use Wi-Fi rather than mobile data.
- Avoid "update files" shared on Facebook or WhatsApp groups: install only through the phone's own updater.

Frequently asked questions
- Will my Redmi Note 14 get HyperOS 4?
- Yes. The Redmi Note 14 family is in Xiaomi's December 2026 wave. The Redmi Note 15 and Note 17 families are in the first wave in early November.
- How big is the HyperOS 4 update?
- It varies by phone. Notebookcheck reported more than 8 GB for the Poco F8 Pro updating from HyperOS 3, so free up space and use Wi-Fi.
