Prize bond draw schedule 2026 and how to check your bond number
Which bonds are drawn when, what the prizes are, how to check a number against the official list, the tax taken from a win and how to claim it.

Prize bonds are bearer bonds sold by the Central Directorate of National Savings (CDNS): no interest, but a quarterly lottery on each denomination, with the bond redeemable at face value at any time. The State Bank's Banking Services Corporation runs the draws under CDNS supervision, in a different city each time, and the winning numbers are published the same day.
The denominations
Four bearer denominations are in issue: Rs 100, Rs 200, Rs 750 and Rs 1,500. The older Rs 7,500, 15,000, 25,000 and 40,000 bearer bonds were withdrawn from 2019 onward and can only be encashed or converted, not entered in draws. Two premium (registered) bonds exist for larger sums, Rs 25,000 and Rs 40,000, which are recorded against the holder's CNIC, pay a periodic profit as well as entering draws, and send prize money to the registered bank account.
The prize structure
Each draw of a bearer bond gives one first prize, several second prizes and a long list of third prizes. The amounts, which have been stable for years and are printed on every draw notice:
| Bond | First prize | Second prizes | Third prizes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rs 100 | Rs 700,000 (1) | Rs 200,000 (3) | Rs 1,000 (1,199) |
| Rs 200 | Rs 750,000 (1) | Rs 250,000 (5) | Rs 1,250 (2,394) |
| Rs 750 | Rs 1,500,000 (1) | Rs 500,000 (3) | Rs 9,300 (1,696) |
| Rs 1,500 | Rs 3,000,000 (1) | Rs 1,000,000 (3) | Rs 18,500 (1,696) |
Check the notice for the draw you hold, as the number of third prizes can be revised.
When the draws are
Every denomination is drawn four times a year, three months apart, on the 15th of the month or the next working day (the Rs 200 draw of 15 September 2026, for instance, and the Rs 1,500 and Rs 100 draws of 17 August 2026). National Savings publishes the full year as Prize Bonds Draw Schedule 2026 on savings.gov.pk; the pattern is Rs 750 and Rs 1,500 in one month, Rs 100 and Rs 200 in the next, then premium bonds, repeating each quarter.
Checking a number
- Open savings.gov.pk and choose Draw Search (results.php) or Download Draws.
- Pick the denomination and the draw date, then either search your bond number or open the full list as a PDF.
- Compare the six-digit bond number exactly; series letters do not matter for bearer bonds, the number is what is drawn.
The full list is also printed in the next day's newspapers and reproduced by banks. Only the National Savings list and the State Bank notice are official; third-party sites copy them, sometimes late or with errors, and a prize is paid against the official list alone.
Tax on a win
Prize money is taxed at source: 15% for filers and 30% for non-filers, per the Finance Act, deducted when the prize is paid. Being on the Active Taxpayers List on the day of payment halves the tax on a large prize; the list is searchable by CNIC on fbr.gov.pk, and the income tax calculator shows what filing costs in the first place.
Claiming
Take the original bond, your original CNIC and a copy, and the claim form (available at the counter) to any National Savings Centre or the State Bank's field office; commercial banks pay the smaller prizes. Prizes up to a set limit are paid in cash at the counter, larger ones by cheque or into a bank account after the bond is verified against the record. Claims are accepted for six years from the draw date; after that the prize lapses. Premium bond prizes are credited automatically to the bank account registered with the bond.
Frequently asked questions
Do old bonds still win? Only bonds in the current denominations are entered in draws. Withdrawn denominations are encashed at face value at National Savings and the State Bank.
Can I buy prize bonds at a bank? Yes: National Savings Centres, the State Bank's field offices and scheduled commercial banks sell and encash bearer bonds. Premium bonds need a CNIC and a bank account.
Is a bond with a torn corner still valid? A damaged bond is verified by number at the State Bank; do not throw it away.
The National Savings site has not posted the result yet. Results appear the same afternoon; if the site is late, the State Bank's notice and the next morning's newspapers carry the same list.
