Islamabad driving licence renewal and learner permit now online only
Islamabad Traffic Police has stopped taking these applications at Faizabad and its facilitation centres. Apply on the ITP portal and the licence comes by TCS.
From Monday 19 October, Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) takes applications for three driving licence services online only: a learner permit, a licence renewal and a duplicate licence, ProPakistani reported, quoting a police spokesperson.
The change matters most for one reason: these applications are no longer processed at Traffic Headquarters in Faizabad or at the other police facilitation centres. If you turn up at a counter for a renewal, you will be sent back to the portal.

The service was launched on the direction of Islamabad Inspector General of Police Muhammad Sohail Chaudhry; Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan also commented on the launch.
How to apply
- Open the Islamabad Traffic Police website and choose the learner permit, renewal or duplicate licence service.
- Enter your full name.
- Give a complete residential address, with house, street and sector, because TCS will deliver to it.
- Give an active mobile number; the courier and ITP use it to reach you.
- Follow the portal's instructions for payment and keep any receipt or tracking number it gives.

Fresh licences still need one visit
