The Jaecoo J5 EV (sold as the J5 BEV) costs Rs 5,999,000 for the Comfort and Rs 6,699,000 for the Premium in Pakistan, ex-factory, under introductory prices that NexGen Auto, the Nishat Group company that assembles Omoda and Jaecoo cars, says are valid until 30 November 2026. It is the first electric SUV assembled in Pakistan. Bookings are open at Omoda and Jaecoo dealers now, and deliveries start in January 2027, PakWheels reported.

Jaecoo J5 EV price in Pakistan and booking amount

VariantEx-factory priceBooking amountBooking as share of price
J5 BEV ComfortRs 5,999,000Rs 1,200,00020%
J5 BEV PremiumRs 6,699,000Rs 1,500,00022%

Prices and booking amounts are from NexGen Auto's launch announcement of 6 November, as published by The Friday Times. Ex-factory means registration, token tax and insurance come on top; our car registration tax calculator works out the registration bill, and the car loan calculator shows the monthly instalment if you finance the balance after the booking amount.

Both variants come with a free 11 kW home charger and a full-size spare tyre, the company said.

How it compares with the other cheap EVs on sale

We set the J5 BEV against the battery-electric cars on our car price list, using the makers' own listed prices.

CarPrice (Rs)BatteryClaimed rangeJ5 BEV Comfort is cheaper by
Jaecoo J5 BEV Comfort5,999,00049.5 kWh405 km (NEDC)
Jaecoo J5 BEV Premium6,699,00049.5 kWh405 km (NEDC)
MG Binguo EV5,699,000n/an/a(Binguo is Rs 300,000 cheaper)
MG4 EV Urban6,949,000n/a316 kmRs 950,000
BYD Atto 27,290,00045.12 kWh380 km (NEDC)Rs 1,291,000
BYD Atto 38,990,00049.92 kWh410 kmRs 2,991,000

The MG and BYD prices are the makers' listed prices as last checked for our price list in September 2026. The headline: for the first time, an electric SUV with a 400 km-class NEDC range costs less than Rs 6 million in Pakistan, and even the Premium sits Rs 250,000 under the smaller MG4 EV Urban.

The EV also undercuts its own hybrid sibling. The petrol-hybrid Jaecoo J5 SHS-H lists at Rs 6,699,000 for the Comfort, so the J5 BEV Comfort is Rs 700,000 cheaper than the hybrid, and the BEV Premium costs the same as the hybrid Comfort.

Battery, range and charging

  • Battery: 49.5 kWh in both variants, so range does not change with trim.
  • Range: 405 km on the NEDC cycle, the figure on the company's J5 EV page. PakWheels quotes 344 km on the stricter WLTP cycle for the Premium, which is closer to what you will see on a motorway in summer with the AC on.
  • Charging: 30% to 80% in 28 minutes on a DC fast charger, and 11 kW AC at home, according to the company.
  • Power: 210 hp (155 kW) and 288 Nm, front-wheel drive.
  • Warranty: 6 years or 150,000 km on the car, 8 years or 160,000 km on the battery.

What it means if you are buying

The offer price ends on 30 November, but cars arrive from January, so a buyer who books this month locks in the price and waits about two months. Check two things before paying the booking amount: whether your home wiring can take an 11 kW charger (many single-phase homes cannot run one at full power), and what your electricity tariff does to the running cost. Our electricity bill calculator shows how added units change a monthly bill, and the fuel cost calculator gives the petrol cost of the same distance in a conventional car at today's petrol price.
