What you can see after dark
Inside Lahore Fort, the night route opens:
- Sheesh Mahal, the mirrored palace
- The Picture Wall, the tiled and painted outer wall
- Diwan-e-Khas and Diwan-e-Aam, the halls of private and public audience
- Hazuri Bagh, Barood Khana and the Royal Kitchen
- A selfie point set up for visitors
Both local and foreign visitors are welcome on the night tours.
Planning a visit
- Timing: October and November evenings in Lahore are mild, which makes this the best season for a night visit before winter fog sets in.
- Getting there: Lahore Fort sits beside Badshahi Mosque at the edge of the Walled City; the Shalimar Gardens are on GT Road in the east of the city, so plan them as separate trips.
- Families: a family of two adults and two young children pays Rs 3,000 at the Fort.
The night opening is part of a wider push to keep visitors in the Walled City after sunset, when the Fort's lit facades are at their most striking. We will update this page with Shalimar Gardens prices and any change to days or hours.
