Book before you set off: the ticket is free but you still need one, and the first weekends are likely to be busy. Visit after dark to see the projection-mapping show, which tells the story of the 2025 conflict and of the monument's construction on its walls.

What you will see

The design is built around five archways. According to The Express Tribune, they stand for the five pillars of Islam and for five pillars of the state: government, military, media, people and ideology. The monument also represents the three armed services alongside cyber defence and space warfare. The conflict it marks began after the Pahalgam attack of 22 April 2025 and ended with a ceasefire announced on 10 May 2025.

Where it is and how to get there

The monument is in the I-8 area of Islamabad, near Al-Shifa Hospital and Faiz Ahmed Faiz Road. For the opening ceremony Islamabad Traffic Police closed the service road from Al-Shifa Hospital towards the Federal Board and Faiz Ahmed Faiz Road between Beaconhouse and Jaffar Khan Jamali Road, and asked visitors to park only in designated areas, APP reported. The alternative routes it gave were Mir Chakar Road, Patras Bukhari Road and the Sector I-8 main double road, which are worth using on busy weekend evenings too.
