FGEHA Lahore housing scheme: 750 kanals on Multan Road with Smart City Housing
The federal employees' housing authority signed a turnkey deal for a new Lahore scheme near Bahria Enclave. Prices and the application date are still to come.
The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has signed an agreement to build a housing scheme of about 750 kanals on Multan Road, Lahore, with the private developer Smart City Housing Lahore. The memorandum of understanding was signed on Thursday 29 October in the presence of FGEHA Director General Captain (retd) Zafar Iqbal, ProPakistani reported. Director Joint Venture Faiz Umar signed for FGEHA and Sardar Adil Umar for Smart City Housing Lahore.
Where the FGEHA Lahore project is
The land is part of Smart City Housing Lahore, an LDA-approved scheme near Bahria Enclave on Multan Road, on the city's south-western side. About 750 kanals is roughly 94 acres or 15,000 marla, the land for about 3,000 five-marla plots before roads, parks and commercial areas are taken out (convert any size with our plot size converter).
How it will be built
FGEHA is using an end-product or turnkey model: the private partner builds and delivers the finished scheme to the requirements agreed in the deal, and FGEHA hands it to its members. This is the same joint-venture route the authority has used for schemes elsewhere, and Zafar Iqbal said FGEHA is working on more partnerships with private developers across Pakistan.
He said the project would widen housing options for federal government employees living in Lahore, and could be extended if more suitable land becomes available.
Who can apply, and what is not known yet
FGEHA said the scheme is meant for federal government employees living in Lahore and other eligible applicants; who qualifies in each category is set out in the brochure FGEHA publishes for every scheme. FGEHA has not yet published the plot sizes, prices, number of plots, payment plan or the opening date for applications for the Lahore project. These normally come in a public advertisement and brochure on fgeha.gov.pk, with registration through the authority's membership drive.
Until that advertisement appears, do not pay anyone for a "booking" or "file" in the FGEHA Lahore scheme. Files sold before an official launch are a common fraud in Pakistani housing schemes.
Planning ahead
If you are a federal employee thinking of applying:
- Keep your FGEHA membership details, CNIC and service certificate ready.
- Work out what instalments you can carry on your salary with the home loan calculator.
- Budget for transfer costs at handover: our stamp duty calculator and property tax calculator cover Punjab's charges.
We will add prices, plot sizes and the application window here when FGEHA publishes them.
