Raphinha injury news: Barcelona's captain will miss the next two matches, against Getafe in La Liga on Saturday 10 October and Galatasaray in the Champions League in Istanbul on Tuesday 13 October, after hurting his hamstring while playing for Brazil in a friendly in Australia, AFP reported via ARY News.

How bad is it?

Coach Hansi Flick said it was "not a big injury", but that it still needs attention. He pointed out that Raphinha had three injuries last season, so Barcelona will be careful with him rather than rush him back. No return date has been given beyond these two games.

Flick was also angry about the schedule the players had been given on international duty, which he linked to the injury. Brazil's friendly in Australia meant a long-haul trip in the middle of the club season.

Why it matters for Barcelona

The timing is bad. Raphinha, 29, is the top scorer in Europe's main leagues this season, with 14 goals in eight matches, AFP reported. He has had repeated muscle problems, and the two games he misses are a league match against Getafe and a Champions League trip to one of the hardest grounds in Europe.
