Apple Music launches in Pakistan at Rs 379 a month, family plan Rs 649
Eleven years after its global launch, Apple Music is live in Pakistan with a free first month. Here is how it compares with Spotify's Pakistani prices and how to subscribe.
Apple Music is now available in Pakistan, 11 years after it launched in more than 100 countries in June 2015. The individual plan costs Rs 379 a month and the family plan Rs 649 a month, and new users get the first month free.
Apple added Pakistan to its Apple Music list on its official "Availability of Apple Media Services" page, alongside Albania, Brunei and Burkina Faso. The prices were first reported by Dawn Images and The Express Tribune, and show inside the Music app for Pakistani accounts.
Apple Music price in Pakistan
| Plan | Monthly price | Free trial |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | Rs 379 | 1 month for new users |
| Family (up to six people) | Rs 649 | 1 month for new users |
Both plans renew automatically every month after the trial, so set a reminder if you only want to try it. Apple Music Classical, the separate classical music app, is still not offered in Pakistan.
Apple Music vs Spotify in Pakistan
Spotify has been in Pakistan since 2021, so the obvious question is which is cheaper. On Spotify's own Pakistan Premium page, checked on 4 October 2026:
| Plan | Apple Music | Spotify Premium |
|---|---|---|
| Individual | Rs 379 | Rs 379 |
| Family | Rs 649 | Rs 679 |
| Duo (two people) | Not offered | Rs 519 |
| Student | Not announced for Pakistan | Rs 199 |
The single plan costs the same on both. A family that shares one plan saves Rs 30 a month, or Rs 360 a year, on Apple Music. A student is still better off on Spotify at Rs 199 until Apple lists a Pakistani student price. Spotify also has a free tier with ads; Apple Music does not.
What you get
Apple Music gives on-demand streaming, personalised recommendations and offline downloads, plus lossless and Dolby Atmos audio on supported devices. It works in the Music app on iPhone, iPad and Mac, and Apple also makes an Apple Music app for Android phones, so you do not need an iPhone to subscribe.
How to subscribe
- Open the Music app (or install Apple Music from Google Play on Android).
- Sign in with an Apple Account whose country is set to Pakistan.
- Tap the trial offer and choose Individual or Family.
- Add a payment method your Apple Account accepts. Card payments in rupees are the usual route; check your bank's international and online transaction settings if a card is declined.
- To stop before you are charged, go to Settings, your name, Subscriptions, Apple Music, and cancel at least a day before the trial ends.
What it means for you
For most listeners the choice now comes down to the catalogue of Pakistani music, which device you use and whether you share a plan. Families on iPhones save a little on Apple; students and Android users who want a free option stay better served by Spotify. If you also pay for cricket streaming, see our Tapmad packages guide, and if you are buying an iPhone to go with it, our iPhone 17 price in Pakistan story and the PTA mobile tax calculator show what you will pay.
