How to check Telenor number 2026: the 3 ways that work, plus balance codes

How to check your Telenor number: ring another phone and read the caller ID, open the My Telenor app, or send your CNIC to 668. Those three work; a "Telenor number check code" does not exist. Telenor's codes, checked against its own balance inquiry page on 25 September 2026, are below.

Start with the thing most pages will not tell you: Telenor does not publish a standalone dial code that reads out your own number. Its own balance inquiry page lists four status codes, and a number check is not among them. The codes circulating in forwarded messages are not on Telenor's site, and some of them dial into paid services.

The four codes Telenor publishes

These are on Telenor's balance inquiry page, with the charge stated per check:

Telenor states there is no limit on how often you check. At Rs 0.24 a time that is about 4 checks per rupee, so a habit of checking your balance five times a day costs you roughly Rs 36 a month. Worth knowing if you run a low balance.

How to find your own Telenor number

Four methods, in order of how reliably they work.

1. Ring another phone. Call any other handset you can see and read the number off its screen. Free, instant, and it works on a dead balance because a ring is not a connected call. If you cannot call out, send an SMS to the other phone instead.

2. Open the My Telenor app. The number of the SIM you are signed in on is shown on the account screen. This is the method to use if you have the app already installed and logged in.

3. Send your CNIC to 668. The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority's service returns the list of connections registered against your CNIC, by network. It will not tell you which SIM is in which slot, but it will tell you which Telenor numbers are in your name. 4. Check the SIM pack or the franchise. The number is printed on the plastic the SIM came out of. If that is gone, a Telenor franchise or service centre can confirm it against your CNIC and your biometric.

If the code does not work

You are on a dual SIM phone and dialled from the wrong slot. A USSD code returns the status of whichever SIM placed the call. On most Android phones the dialler asks which SIM to use; if it does not, set the default in settings before dialling.

The response says the service is not available. USSD fails when the handset is on a data-only connection or roaming. Turn off Wi-Fi calling and try again on the normal network.

Nothing at all comes back. Restart the handset. USSD sessions can be left hanging by a dropped signal, and the next request is ignored until the session times out.

You are on a postpaid connection. The prepaid usage codes behave differently on postpaid. Use the app or your bill.

What the Ufone merger changes

Telenor Pakistan was formally amalgamated into Pakistan Telecommunication Mobile Limited, which is the company behind Ufone, after the Islamabad High Court cleared the final legal step at the start of July 2026. The court order transferring assets and liabilities followed in the same month.

For a customer with a Telenor SIM, three practical points:

• Your number does not change. An amalgamation of companies is not a renumbering of subscribers.
• The codes above are the ones Telenor's own site still publishes. Check them against telenor.com.pk before assuming a forwarded list is current, because a network integration is exactly when shortcodes get retired.
• If a code that worked last month stops working, that is the likeliest cause, and the answer is the operator's own site rather than a third-party listing.

Costs worth keeping in view

The Rs 0.24 per check is the visible charge. The invisible one is the tax on every top-up.
