FPSC postpones CSS 2026 psychological assessment on 25 and 28 September in Islamabad

Updated 25 September 2026: FPSC has now also postponed the CSS 2026 psychological assessment in Islamabad that was due on 25 and 28 September, for the same reason: road closures and the law and order situation in the capital. New dates will be announced later, the commission says.

CSS 2026 psychological assessment: what changes

• Who is affected: CSS 2026 candidates called for the psychological assessment at the Islamabad venue on 25 or 28 September.
• New dates: none yet. FPSC says a revised schedule will be issued in due course and asks candidates to check its website regularly.
• What to do: do not travel to Islamabad for these dates. Keep your call letter and CNIC ready, because the rescheduled assessment will still ask for them.

The psychological assessment is part of the CSS process that comes after the written exam, alongside the viva voce, so a postponement moves the timetable but does not touch written marks.

Earlier: 23 September, interviews postponed

The Federal Public Service Commission has postponed five interview programmes scheduled for 24 and 25 September 2026 in Islamabad, Lahore and Peshawar, citing road closures and the law and order situation.

The programmes affected are 120/2026 to 124/2026. The posts involved are Vice Principal (Female and Male), BS-18 and Senior Elementary Teacher (Female), BS-16.

FPSC said the closures and the current situation could cause inconvenience to candidates travelling to the panel venues. It has not yet announced replacement dates.

Why it happened

The commission's Islamabad panels sit in a city that is currently sealed at its main entry points. Containers have been placed across key roads and interchanges ahead of a protest march planned for 27 September, and mobile and internet services are due to be suspended in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Attock on 26 and 27 September. Candidates coming in from Peshawar or up the GT Road would in many cases not have reached the venue.

This is the third time in 2026 that FPSC has moved Islamabad interviews at short notice.

What candidates should do

• Do not travel. If your call letter names 24 or 25 September and one of programmes 120/2026 to 124/2026, the panel is not sitting.
• Watch the FPSC site and its official X account, not a WhatsApp forward. Replacement dates for postponed panels are usually issued within one to three weeks, and the new call letter is what governs.
• Keep your documents current. A rescheduled panel sometimes falls after a degree attestation or domicile expires, and candidates have been turned away for exactly that.
• Nothing else changes. A postponement does not affect your written score, your merit position or your eligibility.
