The digitalisation of exams in Punjab's education boards formally began on Friday, 6 November, with the launch of e-sheets. ARY News reported from Lahore that Muzamil Mahmood, chairman of the Task Force on Examinations in Punjab and a member of the Chief Minister's Advisory Committee on Education, inaugurated the system for the Punjab Board.

The first paper

In the first exam held under the system, about 50,000 students sat their biology paper using e-sheets. Mahmood announced that from next year, all subject examinations across Punjab will be conducted using the e-sheet system.

What officials say it will change

According to the task force chairman, as reported by ARY News:

  • Impersonation and fake attendance: e-sheets will make it impossible for a candidate to be impersonated or marked present falsely.
  • Paper: moving to e-sheets removes the reliance on conventional recycled paper.
  • Results: results are expected to be processed and declared significantly faster because of e-sheets and online marking.

The report does not describe how the e-sheet works at the exam desk, for example whether students write on a printed sheet that is scanned or on a device. It also does not say which boards or classes the biology paper belonged to. We will update this page when the boards publish those details.

What students and parents should do

Nothing changes in how you prepare, but check your roll number slip and the instructions printed on it for the sheet format before the paper. Boards usually publish such rules in a notice to centres and candidates, so follow your own board's website rather than rumours on social media.

For current result dates and board notices, see our living page on the 12th class result 2026 for Punjab boards. To turn marks into a GPA, use the CGPA calculator, and if you are aiming for medical college, the MDCAT aggregate calculator shows how board marks count towards the merit list.
