Intermediate (HSSC) Part 2 students in Jhelum district sit their computer science papers on Tuesday 10 November after all, the date first fixed by the Rawalpindi board. On Saturday BISE Rawalpindi had moved both computer science shifts in Jhelum, and only Jhelum, to Monday 30 November. On Sunday Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz removed Jhelum's deputy commissioner over that delay and ordered that the papers go ahead on the original date, The Nation reported.

If you are a computer science candidate in Jhelum, Pind Dadan Khan or Sohawa, plan for 10 November at your usual centre, and check the board's notices before you leave home in case a fresh date sheet is issued.

Saturday 7 NovemberBISE Rawalpindi moves the Jhelum district papers only to Monday 30 November, in two shifts, on the DC's recommendation "due to administrative reasons"
Sunday 8 NovemberThe chief minister removes DC Mir Raza Ozgen and orders the papers held on 10 November as first planned

The board's controller of examinations, Mubashir Saeed, said on Saturday that the postponement came on the deputy commissioner's recommendation, The Nation reported. An official in the Rawalpindi commissioner's office told the paper the real reason was the chief minister's planned visit to Jhelum on 10 November. In his letter to the board, Ozgen said deploying administrative and security staff for the visit could disrupt the exam.

Computer science candidates in the board's other districts were never affected: their papers stayed on 10 November throughout.

Exam centres in Jhelum district

The board said the Jhelum papers would be held at the centres already allotted:

What the chief minister ordered

Maryam Nawaz said she had told officials that her district visits must cause "no inconvenience or disruption whatsoever" to the public, Daily Pakistan reported. She shared the transfer notification on X, telling Ozgen to report to the Services and General Administration Department. She also told commissioners, deputy commissioners and police officers that security for her visits must not close markets and shops or block residential streets.

What Jhelum students should do now

  1. Prepare for 10 November. Treat the original date as the exam day unless the board publishes a new notice.
  2. Check the board's own notices on the BISE Rawalpindi website and its official social media pages on Monday 9 November.
  3. Keep your roll number slip and CNIC or B-form ready; the centre and shift on the slip do not change.
  4. Ignore forwarded date sheets on WhatsApp that do not carry the board's letterhead and controller's signature.
