MDCAT result 2026: 47,501 sat the test, UHS says result inside a week

Punjab's MDCAT 2026 is over. The University of Health Sciences held the test on Sunday, 20 September, from 10am to 1pm at 31 centres across 15 cities, and 47,501 candidates turned up out of 49,203 registered. That leaves 1,702 absent, a no-show rate of about 3.5 per cent.

UHS Vice Chancellor Maj Gen Prof Sohail Sabir said the paper went off without incident and credited district administrations, police, medical universities and colleges for the arrangements.

Where the candidates sat

Lahore was the biggest centre by far with 11,480 candidates. Multan followed with 6,911 and Rawalpindi with 6,045. Faisalabad had 5,234, Gujranwala 2,495, Sahiwal 2,367, Bahawalpur 2,213, Sialkot 1,912, Sargodha 1,857, Dera Ghazi Khan 1,814, Layyah 1,571, Gujrat 1,356, Rahim Yar Khan 1,020, Mianwali 681 and Bahawalnagar 545.

The answer key is already out

UHS released the question paper and answer key after 6pm on test day, which is the point at which you can mark yourself. Do it properly: count only the answers you are certain you shaded, and do not assume a question you left blank will be graded in your favour.

There is no negative marking in MDCAT, so a blank and a wrong answer cost the same. If your self-score and the official score differ by more than a mark or two, that is what the challenge window is for.

When the result lands

UHS has said the result is expected within a week of the test, which puts it around 27 September. It goes up on the UHS portal against your roll number and CNIC. Keep both to hand, because the site slows badly in the first hour after a result drops.

The MDCAT score is not the admission. It feeds into the merit calculation alongside your matric and FSc marks, and the provincial admission portal then runs the merit lists. A strong MDCAT with a weak FSc still moves you down the list.

What to do in the waiting week

Get your documents in order now rather than during merit list week: matric and FSc detailed marks certificates, CNIC or B-form, domicile, and passport-size photographs. Scanned copies in the sizes the portal demands save you a day later.
