Why the price fell

The biggest factor is the cost of the cargoes themselves. Pakistan State Oil brought in two cargoes for September (about 6.3 million MMBtu) against one in August, and the average delivered (DES) price fell from $12.1214 to $10.0642 per MMBtu, down 17%. The September cargoes are priced at 13.37% and 10.20% of the three-month average Brent price ($85.44 a barrel in OGRA's working), so a cheaper long-term contract cargo pulled the average down. Terminal charges per unit also roughly halved, from $2.284 to $1.0947, because the fixed cost was spread over twice the volume.

What stays in the price: PSO's 2.5% margin, port and import costs, the cost of supply for SNGPL and SSGC, and the gas lost in the pipes. OGRA counts SNGPL's distribution losses at 8.95% and SSGC's at 12.09%, which is why the distribution price is higher than transmission.

What RLNG prices mean for you

  • CNG stations in Punjab and KP largely run on RLNG, so the RLNG price feeds into what they charge at the pump.
  • Industry and captive power plants pay the RLNG rate directly; a 20% cut matters for textile mills on the SNGPL network.
  • Households on piped gas pay the separately notified consumer gas tariff, not the RLNG price. Estimate your bill with the gas bill calculator.
  • Oil-linked: RLNG follows Brent with a lag of a few months. Brent jumped to about $115 a barrel on 23 October 2026, its highest since May, which will feed into prices for the coming months.

How this page works

OGRA notifies a provisional RLNG weighted average sale price each month, usually in the second half of the month, and a final price later. We update this page in place with the newest figures at the top and keep the earlier months below, so you can see the trend. The previous notification, for August 2026, was dated 28 August 2026.
