Sehat Dehleez app: Balochistan launches free 24-hour doctor consultations by phone and web
PPHI's telehealth service handled 495 consultations from 35 districts on day one. Here is what it covers and how to use it.
Balochistan has launched Sehat Dehleez, a free telehealth service that connects people with qualified doctors around the clock through an Android app and a web app, Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti announced on X on Wednesday, ARY News reported. The service is run by the People's Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) Balochistan.
What it offers
- Cost: free.
- Hours: 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, according to the chief minister.
- Covers: general health problems, mother and child health, advice on common illnesses and health awareness.
- Who it is for: anyone in Balochistan, especially people in remote areas far from a hospital or basic health unit.
How to use it
Download the Android app or open the web app through the QR codes PPHI distributes, then request a consultation and a doctor calls or chats with you from wherever you are. No iPhone app or helpline number has been announced yet. For anything urgent, such as chest pain, heavy bleeding or a child who cannot breathe properly, go to the nearest hospital or call 1122 rather than waiting for an online consultation.
First day in numbers
PPHI's figures for the first day, as reported by ARY:
| Measure | Count |
|---|---|
| Consultation calls received | 791 |
| Consultations completed | 495 |
| Calls with location data | 718 |
| Districts reached | 35 |
Balochistan is Pakistan's largest province by area and its least densely populated, so a trip to a doctor can mean hours on the road; a phone consultation can settle whether that trip is needed. Find hospitals near you in our hospital directory for Quetta, and more health news on the health desk.
Frequently asked questions
