Sean Brady out of UFC Vegas 124 main event with injury; UFC hunts short-notice opponent for Gabriel Bonfim

Sean Brady has pulled out of his UFC Vegas 124 main event against Gabriel Bonfim with an injury, MMA Fighting reported on Thursday 29 October, confirming an earlier report by Brazilian journalist Laerte Viana, Sherdog said. The nature of the injury has not been disclosed, and the UFC is looking for a short-notice opponent for Bonfim.

The card, also billed as UFC Fight Night 293, is on Saturday 7 November 2026 at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas.

What happens to the main event

With nine days to go, the UFC has three usual options: find a ranked welterweight willing to step in, bring in a lower-ranked fighter for a chance at a big name, or move another bout to the top of the card. Bonfim, a Brazilian on a five-fight run whose last win came against the former champion Belal Muhammad, is the reason this fight headlined, so the promotion is likely to try to keep him in the main event. Until the UFC announces a replacement, nothing is confirmed.
