Metro bus Rawalpindi: Saddar to Secretariat service suspended on match days until 13 November
Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, IJP Road and Sixth Road stations close for Pakistan vs Sri Lanka and the tri-series. Which days, and how to plan your commute.

The Rawalpindi-Islamabad Metrobus will be partly shut on match days from now until 13 November, while Sri Lanka and England play in Rawalpindi. The district administration has ordered the restrictions for security, Metrobus sources told ProPakistani and 24 News. The first closures to plan around are for the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka T20Is on 9, 11 and 13 October.
What closes and when
- Saddar to Pak Secretariat: the service on this stretch stops whenever the teams are being moved between their hotel and Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
- Three stations closed on match days: Khatm-e-Nabuwwat, IJP Road and Sixth Road, the stops nearest the stadium and the team route.
- Period: 4 October to 13 November 2026. The suspension is not continuous: it applies on match days and during team movements.
No exact hours have been published. Team convoys usually leave a few hours before the start, and the T20Is start in the evening, so expect the Saddar end of the line to be disrupted from mid-afternoon on match days.

What it means for you
- Commuting from Rawalpindi to Islamabad on a match day: if you board at Saddar, Committee Chowk or the stations near Murree Road, leave earlier or plan another route. Trips through the Saddar to Secretariat stretch will be held while the teams move.
- Going to the match: IJP Road, Sixth Road and Khatm-e-Nabuwwat will not be open, so do not count on the Metrobus to drop you near the ground. Ride-hailing and private cars will meet the usual Murree Road diversions around the stadium.
- Driving instead: work out the cost of the trip with the fuel cost calculator at today's petrol price.
Tickets for the T20Is are on sale from Rs 300: Pakistan vs Sri Lanka tickets. We will add the exact suspension hours here if the Punjab Masstransit Authority or the district administration publishes them.
