Updated Thursday 1 October 2026, 7pm PKT. England have named their 16-man squad for the Pakistan ODI tri-series, with Harry Brook as captain, leg-spinner Adil Rashid and all-rounder Sam Curran back from injury, and three uncapped players: leg-spinner Mason Crane, fast bowler Henry Crocombe and all-rounder James Coles. Jofra Archer has been rested to manage his workload and Jos Buttler is out with a hamstring injury. Pakistan and Sri Lanka have not named their squads yet; both go on this page the day they are announced.

England squad for the Pakistan tri-series
Harry Brook (captain), Gus Atkinson, Sonny Baker, Tom Banton, James Coles, Jordan Cox, Mason Crane, Henry Crocombe, Sam Curran, Liam Dawson, Ben Duckett, Will Jacks, Jamie Overton, Adil Rashid, Joe Root, Josh Tongue.
What it means for Pakistan's batters: three spinners (Rashid, Dawson and Crane) plus Jacks' off-spin suggests England expect slow surfaces in Rawalpindi and Lahore. Crane, 29, gets an England call-up eight years after his last appearance. With Buttler out, Jordan Cox is the likely wicketkeeper. Tom Banton arrives in form after his maiden ODI century against Sri Lanka in September.
